Yount Ridge Cellars EPIC is always a reflection of balance, complexity and flavors of the vineyard using only its finest lots in barrel.
The aromas on our collection‐worthy flagship wine are forward and intense, showing blueberry, marionberry, cranberry, a hint of rhubarb and raspberry. The entry is balanced, soft yet solid. The finish is dense and structural though not coarse. Flavors at the finish show spiced plum, citrus zest, and a sweet earthy note, all wrapped in very fine‐grained tannins that deliver the age‐worthiness of this more weighty Cabernet.

Winemaker Notes: Lovely complexity defines the aromas of this Bordeaux‐style blend. Ripe blueberry, dark anise and woodsy notes, a hint of bright raspberry and a touch of sweet herbals show both in the aromas as well as the flavors of this lively blend. Somewhat lighter than the Cabernet in structure, the wine shows its composition with hints of sweet bay leaf and dried cherry on the finish. Full bodied, round silkiness, elegant and restrained.
TThe 2014 Proprietary Red is a Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine with important contributions from the Merlot and Malbec. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, lavender and spice notes infuse this succulent, forward wine. The Proprietary Red is tasty, but it is not markedly different from the Cabernet Sauvignon, although there is more textural depth and overall intensity.

The Sauvignon Musque clone lends gorgeous aromatics to our Sauvignon Blanc. The Yount Ridge Vineyard is high in natural acidity resulting in a fresh and vibrant wine with impactful aromas and flavors of citrus, peach, mango and jasmine flower all nicely layered with a touch of crisp acidity.
The 2016 Sauvignon Blanc offers lovely depth and texture, much of it coming from aging on the lees and a partial fermentation in barrel. Lemon confit, white flower and chamomile add nuance, but it is the wine's texture and slight element of oiliness that stands out. This is very nicely done.

Sauvignon Blanc is a green-skinned grape variety that originates from the Bordeaux region of France. The grape most likely gets its name from the French words sauvage ("wild") and blanc ("white”) due to its early origins as an indigenous grape in South West France. It is possibly a descendant of Savagnin. Sauvignon blanc is planted in many of the world's wine regions, producing a crisp, dry, and refreshing white varietal wine. Depending on the climate, the flavor can range from aggressively grassy to sweetly tropical. In cooler climates, the grape tends to produce wines with noticeable acidity and "green flavors" of grass, green bell peppers and nettles with some tropical fruit and floral. In warmer climates, it can develop more tropical fruit notes but risk losing a lot of aromatics from over-ripeness, leaving only slight grapefruit and tree fruit notes.
