Ships to: DC, VA, CA, ID, NM, NV
Size: 750 ml
Alcohol: 13% ABV
Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir
Region: AOC Bourgogne, France
Wine very marked by red fruits, with predominant blackcurrant notes. On the palate, we find red berries and a beautiful aromatic persistence. An entry-level wine of the highest standard, which puts many nominally superior Villages wines in the shade
This Bourgogne pinot noir comes from 3 parcels at the extremity of Savigny, both on the hill & in the plain areas. The winemaking process is traditional: the grapes are de-stemmed, crushed, cold-macerated for a few days then trodden down on a daily basis. The process of fermentation is carried out naturally at low temperatures. After a period of 2 weeks in vats, the wines are brought to the cellar and aged for over 18 months. Unfined & unfiltered.
Pinot noir is a red wine grape variety of the species Vitis vinifera. The name is derived from the French words for pine and black. The word pine alludes to the grape variety having tightly clustered, pine cone-shaped bunches of fruit. Pinot noir grapes are grown around the world, mostly in the cooler climates. Pinot noir is a difficult variety to cultivate and transform into wine. The grape's tendency to produce tightly packed clusters makes it susceptible to several viticultural hazards involving rot that require diligent canopy management.
The thin-skins and low levels of phenolic compounds lends pinot to producing mostly lightly colored, medium bodied and low tannin wines that can often go through phases of uneven and unpredictable aging. When young, wines made from pinot noir tend to have red fruit aromas of cherries, raspberries and strawberries. As the wine ages, pinot has the potential to develop more vegetal and "barnyard" aromas that can contribute to the complexity of the wine.

Chardonnay is a green-skinned grape variety used in the production of white wine. The Chardonnay grape itself is neutral, with many of the flavors commonly associated with the wine being derived from such influences as terroir and oak.
It is vinified in many different styles, from the lean, crisply mineral wines of Chablis, France, to New World wines with oak and tropical fruit flavors. In cool climates, Chardonnay wine tends to be medium to light body with noticeable acidity and flavors of green plum, apple, and pear. In warmer locations, the flavors become more citrus, peach, and melon, while in very warm locations, more fig and tropical fruit notes such as banana and mango come out.
Wines that have gone through malolactic fermentation tend to have softer acidity and fruit flavors with buttery mouthfeel and hazelnut notes.

Grapes: 50% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir, 10% Pinot Meunier
Region: Côtes de Blanc, France - Champagne AOC
This "Brut Tradition" Champagne is a blend of several vintages. It owes its roundness to the Pinot Noirs, its vinosity to the Pinot Meuniers and its freshness to the Chardonnays.
The grapes come from vines harvested at complete maturity. Clear and brilliant, with hints of green. Forms a thick, tight mousse when poured and leaves a delicate, long-lasting "necklace" of bubbles at the surface. The nose is elegant and floral but also very expressive and intense, revealing a certain finesse. There's a touch of mimosa, followed by citrus and ripened fruit.

De Sousa Champagne - 3A NV

Grapes: 50% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir
Region: Côtes de Blanc & Montage de Reims, France - Champagne AOC
50% Avize, a village classified as a Grand Cru Chardonnay, located at the heart of the Côte des Blancs, a terroir where the purest chalk in all of Champagne, composed of belemnite, is found. These fossilized shells dating back millions of years lend freshness, minerality and finesse to these wines which stand out for their personality.
For this cuvée, we have made a selection of grapes grown on over 50-year-old vines, and have vinified them carefully in 225-litre oak barrels.
25% Aÿ, a village classified as a Grand Cru Pinot Noir, located where the Marne Valley meets the Mountain of Reims. The slopes' unique, full southern exposure and irregular topography allow the Pinot Noir grape to express its aromas of ripe fruit while allying power and finesse. These old vineyards are still planted with old varieties of Pinot Noir that produce small fruit with unique aromas. This historic village boasts sedimentary and limestone soils in which there is a high proportion of chalk.
25% Ambonnay, a village classified as a Grand Cru Pinot Noir, located on the Mountain of Reims, a vast, forest-covered plateau where the grape vines are planted in chalky soils. The forest plays the role of balancing the cold, evening air that descends onto the plain with the warm air produced during the day that rises toward the summit.
We have chosen to maintain our vines that were there planted in the 1950s. They have low yields but the grapes show greater maturity and more concentration.Unlike Chardonnay, a fragile, delicate varietal, Pinot Noir is vigorous and is well-adapted to limestone soils to yield wines that stand out for their power and consistency and are well-supported by good structure. The aromas are very elegant, boasting highly sought-after red berry notes. Avize, Aÿ, and Ambonnay are the only three villages in Champagne classified as Grand Cru whose name begins with an "A". This explains how this cuvée got its name, but what makes it unique is its composition of 50% Chardonnay from Avize blended with 50% Pinot Noir from Aÿ and Ambonnay.
Two varietals, three Grands Crus that each lend their own personality to the cuvée.

Aromatic notes of apple blossom, ground ginger and anise, with crunchy pear, raspberry and chopped almond accents. Its considerable bottle age gives complexity and depth and indeed, this is particularly interesting and engaging for a non vintage blend. Dry in style yet quite ripe. 2016 Domaine Les 4 Vents - Crozes-Hermitage
Ships to: DC, VA, CA, ID, NM
Size: 750 ml
Alcohol: 13% ABV
Grapes: 100% Syrah
Region: AOC Crozes-Hermitage, Rhône, France
This 2016 wine has nose features ripe fruits of strawberries, cassis and blackberries, as well as a hint of liquorice. On the palate, it is very concentrated, opulent and powerful with very well integrated tannins. An intense Crozes Hermitage, which is even superior to many Hermitage wines.
Domaine les 4 Vents, formerly Le Domaine de Lucie is the domaine of Lucie Fourel and her sister, Nancy Cellier. Lucie is a young “vigneronne”, who in 2006 took over 3.5 hectares in Crozes-Hermitage from her parents with the idea of making wines from her family’s vineyards under her own label. In 2013, her sister Nancy, decided to join the family business and the domain name was changed to Domaine les 4 Vents which was the name of the Auberge that Lucie and Nancy’s great grandparents owned next door to where the family house and winery is today. In 2015, Lucie and Nancy inherited the remaining 6.5 hectares from their parents, bringing the domain to its current size of 10 hectares. Domaine Les 4 Vents has both organic and bio-dynamic certifications.
Syrah also known as Shiraz, is a dark-skinned grape variety grown throughout the world and used primarily to produce red wine. In 1999, Syrah was found to be the offspring of two obscure grapes from southeastern France, Dureza and Mondeuse Blanche. Syrah should not be confused with Petite Sirah, a cross of Syrah with Peloursin dating from 1880.
The style and flavor profile of wines made from Syrah is influenced by the climate where the grapes are grown with moderate climates tending to produce medium to full-bodied wines with medium-plus to high levels of tannins and notes of blackberry, mint and black pepper. In hot climates, Syrah is more consistently full-bodied with softer tannin, jammier fruit and spice notes of licorice, anise and earthy leather. In many regions the acidity and tannin levels of Syrah allow the wines produced to have favorable aging potential.

Brut Prestige is a powerful and complex Champagne, with a nice balance between pinot noir and chardonnay, resulting in a complex bouquet with notes of brioche and red fruits. This Champagne is generous and rich on the palate, offering notes of spice and stewed fruits (plums). This warm and fleshy wine is mainly to be enjoyed during the meal with fish or poultry.

2016 Domaine Les 4 Vents - Les 4 Vents
Ships to: DC, VA, CA, ID, NM
Size: 750 ml
Alcohol: 13% ABV
Grapes: 100% Syrah
Region: AOC Crozes-Hermitage, Rhône, France
This 2016 wine has aromas of liquorice, blackberries, black cherries and violets. On the palate it has medium plus body and very powerful for a Crozes-Hermitage. The tannins are present, perfectly intergrated and really fine. Complex with a long finish. A very good Crozes-Hermitage, reminiscent of the strength and depth of its neighbors Hermitage.
Syrah is an amazing food wine. Pair with:
